The following is a conversation I’m having with my Lord as I type. Speaking with the Most High is something I always do, but today I wanted to give you a front row seat to the experience. Now, some of you might say, “Mann, that’s not God, he’s just talking to his conscience.” And I say to you… what’s the difference?
Let’s go to work.
Me: Why are we here?
God: You can ask a better question than that, can’t you?
Me: You’re right, I was tryna warmup, okay…. after my divorce, I won’t lie, I wanted nothing to do with you, I felt as if you set me up. Now I know that you had a master plan. Is it possible for men to become who they need to be without pain and/or heartbreak?
God: Why do you want to avoid pain?
Me: Umm, cuz pain hurts.
God: I am a God of two sides. If there is dark, there must be light, if there is rain, there must be sun, so if there is to be gain, there must be pain.
Me: So, a man is supposed to wait around for pain to find his purpose in life?
God: No, even you have said it, follow the enthusiasm.
Me: Okay, but here’s what I don’t understand. I see people in life winning… big, and they’re not good people, they’re not paying any price of pain, hell, I know for a fact they don’t even talk to you, so what’s up with that?
God: Life is not a movie.
Me: Huh? Lord, can you please quit talking in code, can you explain that?
God: In movies, you see everything workout, you see people get revenge, you see people receive their karma, all within a span of two-hours… this is not life. In real life, things often take a lifetime. Everything is connected and everything happens in its own time. You rely too much on what you see when you need to concern yourself more with what you do not. Sight shackles you and vision frees you.
Me: Hmm, that’s too deep for the intro… back to the pain tho. It took me awhile to understand the importance of pain. I see now that if you can pay the price of pain life will reward you. I also understand that somethings in life just is what it is. But, couldn’t you have made some things in life a bit easier?
God: When you think about the things that you have in which you acquired with ease, how do you feel about them now, versus, the things you possess that were challenging to obtain?
Me: Hmm…
God: There’s your answer.
Me: Hmm…
God: Anything else?
Me: That’s all for today my Lord.
