I had an epiphany this week.
I’ve realized I’ve never taken full responsibility, not for my position in life, not for my failures, not for the people around me, not for anything.
I’ve heard, “you have to take responsibility” a million times, I’m sure you’ve heard it too. But like me, I guarantee, you’ve become numb to the phrase all together.
Here’s what everyone has forgotten to mention along with this statement…
When you take full responsibility, you become a fucking MAN!
Blaming people for your life is what weak beta males do, it’s what females do, it’s what children do.
I don’t care what you been through…for the sake of greatness, take OWNership, forgive yourself, and march forth. You are the OWNER of your life and that won’t happen until you take full responsibility…for everything.
My divorce…my fault. The reason why my ex-wife stopped loving me…my fault. The reason my rap career never took off…my fault. Dead end job…my fault. Constantly having the wrong people around me in my life…my fault. Still not a millionaire…my fault. But on the flipside...the success of these articles, the success of my podcast, the success of every new venture, will also be…my fucking fault!
I want to leave you with my favorite bible verse and it goes like this…
“When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.” (1 Corinthians 13:11)
Playing victim is a childish thing. Feeling sorry for yourself is a childish thing. Not taking FULL responsibility is a childish thing. Today is a new day, put childish things away and once and for all become the MAN you are destined to be.
