I know, you just want to read something real quick and go bout yo day, I hate when authors ask me to do an exercise myself, but this gon’ be good… trust me.
Today, we will initiate a game called “The Self-Made Blueprint.”
This is not a game of you versus me, instead, it is a game of YOU versus YOU versus LIFE.
LET’S Go 2 Work.
What is the objective of the game?
THRIVE
What is your character?
A LOSER.
Why are you starting off as a loser you ask?
You’re not who you want to be nor are you where you want to be. For some reason, you’ve failed to just get it, with women, with men, and with people in general, in fact… you don’t even know what IT is. Fear is your God. Easy is your God. Pussy is your God. You’ve bullshitted most of the game. You didn’t even know you were in a game. You have no drive or ambition. You’re super behind by God knows how much. And there’s no telling which quarter you’re in…that’s why.
With that said, let us calculate your life score. Note: It is important to be extremely honest and hard on yourself during this estimate.
Touchdowns- Tally all of your MAJOR life wins with each win equaling 7 points (e.g., buying a house, promotions, honorably discharged from military, first paycheck provided from purpose, good wife and children, etc. Note: make sure to include an extra 7 points in which the Most-High has graciously given you in the form of your talents and gifts)
Field goals- Tally your MINOR life wins with each field goal equaling 3 points (e.g., reading these articles EVERY week, investments in stocks, bitcoin, land, and future, good credit, college degree or certificates, etc. Note: minor life wins are different from accomplishing minor tasks, all investments only equal 3 points, all degrees only equal 3 points, and a regular job, car, and an apartment do not count as any kind of win as it is considered surviving and not thriving)
Now let’s compute the opponents score, which is the score life has against you. Same honesty applies.
Fumbles- Tally all of your major setbacks that is affecting your ability to thrive (e.g., divorce, unemployed and/or little to no money, bad credit, baby mammas and paying them child support, no certificates or degrees, no investments, vampires and dead weight around you, lost and missed opportunities, addictions and vices, etc. Note: If you only have a job but no car and no apartment or a car but no apartment and no job or lack any one of these three, that’s a fumble, because you’re not even surviving. Also, life gets an extra 10 points off the rip because…life)
Starting Point
Where your game begins and the quarter in which you start corresponds to your current age
Quarter 1 (0-18 years old): Alive
Quarter 2 (19-38 years): Survive
Quarter 3 (39 - 58 years): Thrive or Dive
Quarter 4 (59+ years): Matthew 25:14-30
Game flow
First Downs- A completed small TASK (e.g., going to the gym, planning your day, adhering to P.E.M.D.A.S, saying no to any addiction or vice, etc.)
Punting - Adapting, regrouping, and re-strategizing to any setback so that you can come back better and stronger (e.g., breakup/heartbreak, losing a job, losing a loved one, health issues, financial issues, legal issues)
New Touchdowns, Field Goals, Fumbles- Each are tallied as discussed previously
Gameplay
Now that you have your scores, and you know which quarter you’re in, and you understand the flow of the game, let’s get thangs on and crackin’. In football, a first down is about gaining ten yards to keep moving forward. In the Self-Made Blueprint, it represents small, incremental wins that build momentum. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to break your life into smaller achievable TASKS (e.g., “Work out for 30 minutes today” or “Go to sleep early”). Each completed TASK, whether it be accomplished daily, weekly, or monthly, is a first down. In addition, all touchdowns represent your MAJOR life milestones and achievements. Define and map out your projected touchdowns (e.g., “Start a family,” “Buy a House,” “Get paid from purpose”). Furthermore, field goals are your medium strategic wins that represent short-term GOALS, not tasks, and help to assist the overall objective which is to THRIVE (e.g., “Quit Smoking in three months,” “Raise credit score 100 points within the year,” “Learn the stock market utilizing AI apps and invest $50 a month within the next 6 months”). Here’s an example: Touchdown- “Get a promotion”/ Field Goal- “Get certificate or more training in particular department which will increase my value”/ First down- “Update resume,” “Practice improving interview skills daily,” “Start certification class.”
Time is ticking. In order to go from a loser to a winner and dominate this game your focus must be to achieve multiple first downs EVERY DAY. Field goals and touchdowns must be made every six months to a year. You must be smart and punt when necessary. And above all, absolutely no more FUMBLES.
“Welcome to the Self-Made Blueprint! You’re in Quarter __ of Life. Your current life score is __ and your opponent, who is whooping your ass at the moment, has a grand total score of __.You’ve had some great touchdowns, like ___ and ___ but you’ve also had a few fumbles such as ___ and don’t forget that___. But don’t worry, fret not, for this is your chance to turn things around and score big! Utilize every second, prove everybody wrong, and thrive sir…THRIVE!”
