For over 10 years, my mother had a black and white cat named Josephine.
Everywhere my mother went, so did Josephine. She fed her the best of foods and gave her a great life. She even took her to the vet. I don’t know if you know this, but most black people don’t take their pets to the vet. When our pets get sick, we just drop em’ off in the woods somewhere. That’s how I knew my mother loved this cat. One day, Josephine just… disappeared. She ain’t leave a note, she ain’t send a postcard, after everything my mother did for her, she just up and vanished.
Fastforward a year later, a grey cat appeared, we called him Smoke. My mother never warmed up to Smoke, but my brother did. Out of all the houses in the neighborhood, Smoke loved coming to ours. Why? Because we offered Smoke the best food and milk on the block. My brother took care of him for many years and then, just like that, Smoke disappeared as well. No call, no text, nothin’.
I can hear you now, “Why is Walt Factual writing about cats?”
Because,
Cats,
Are Just Like…
WOMEN.
You can do everything in your power to protect and provide for them. You can love them unconditionally. You can give them a wonderful life. Nevertheless, one day when you least expect it, they can still decide to up and leave you, for no reason whatsoever. What you MUST do is ACCEPT their nature for what it is. Accept that you cannot put women on a leash, and you must let them roam free. Whether they stay or whether they go, let it have no effect on your mission, vision, and purpose. The more you push, the more they will pull away. The more independence you give them, the more dependent they become. The more you act like you don’t care, the more they want you. Women are like cats and cats are just like women.
If you want to get them, have them, or better yet keep them, sure, you can dedicate your time to getting rich and famous, or…
you can live your life and just so happen to offer the best food and milk on the block.
