The Invisible Man

Online, I recently saw a woman say that she wants to work in a hospice facility so that she can slowly torture all of the Donald Trump supporters who live there. Over the last few days, I’ve seen women threaten to… bite men (not in a good way), stop having sex with men, and delete the president elect along with any and everyone who voted for him. On a lighter note, I saw somebody tweet, “Just this Halloween yall was naked, now yall politicians.”

There are many things I can say about Kamala Harris’ campaign, but my personal thoughts on the matter are irrelevant right now. The only thing I currently want to discuss is the invisible man. It is said that men who have felt unheard and unseen over the last four years played a major part in Trump’s victory.

So, why are men feeling invisible and why do they identify with Donald John Trump?

Let’s Go 2 Work.

According to the book “Of Boys and Men” by Richard Reeves…

-Men’s wages have declined by 14% since 1979 while women’s wages have grown

-Society has labeled perfectly normal male behavior as “toxic masculinity” and has failed to address the plight of males

-Men are three to four times more likely to die by suicide compared to women and less likely to seek help for mental health problems due to societal expections

-Increased numbers of single parent households headed by women have challenged the role of men within family structures accompanied with biased policies that eliminate paternal involvement and shared parenting

--The significant decline in manufacturing jobs that traditionally employ large numbers of men has led to increased financial instability and IDENTITY crises among men

Now, why do men feel so invisible?

Because modern men don’t feel needed.

Why do invisible men identify with Donald Trump?

One, he makes men feel like it’s okay to be unapologetically masculine. Two, he makes men feel needed.

Needed to do what?

Produce(economy), Protect(borders), and Provide(jobs) for their families, communities, and country.

Some might be saying, “Boohoo… poor men, poor needy wannabe victim males, boohoo… guess what, you’ve been on top long enough, nobody cares!”

Very well. And I say, maybe if you did care, or listened, or at the very least showed some empathy, you wouldn’t be crashing out on AL Gore’s internet right now.

“He is you. Your opposite, and the result of the equation trying to balance itself out.” (The Oracle: Matrix Revolutions (2003))
